Stackverdict

How we test and score

Stackverdict exists because most software "reviews" are rewritten press releases. We run the tools on real work, publish what went wrong, and keep the money side visible.

We buy the plan

Every tool is tested on a real paid subscription for at least two weeks of production work, not a guided demo.

Five-part scoring

Ease of use, features, output quality, support and value are scored separately, then weighted into the overall rating.

Affiliates never move rankings

Commission rates are recorded by our editors but are not an input to the score. Tools with no programme are reviewed the same way.

Downsides always published

A review is not publishable without at least three concrete cons, written from something we actually hit in testing.

The score, explained

Each sub-score runs from 0 to 5. Output quality carries the heaviest weight for AI tools, value carries the heaviest weight for subscription platforms above $50 per month. We re-test every tool at least twice a year and rewrite the review when pricing or core features change.

How we make money

Some outbound links are affiliate links, which means we may earn a commission if you subscribe. It costs you nothing extra. Full details are in our affiliate disclosure.
